Mural: Where Wander Meets Wonder

Artist’s Statement: Whitney Herrington

Even though it has been a month since I completed this mural, I am still in awe- in awe of the people, the town, and the love that Casper showed me during my brief visit.

My experience with Casper will forever be a high point in my artistic career. Many “firsts” were able to be scratched off my artist bucket list! There is no doubt in my mind that I will return in the future to do more work with your community. And I will continue to sing the praises of Casper, Wyoming to all that listen. Your town is a gem.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to have worked with the Casper Mural Project on the “Where Wander Meets Wonder” mural. It was a labor of love and I hope that my interpretation of symbols and Casperian ideas reflect my level of respect and forethought I poured into this project.

Please take ridiculous amounts of photos with this beautiful mural and post them all over social media while shouting out the accomplishments of the committee that worked so hard to make this happen. Continue to support public art in your community and watch how it will positively affect everything around you.
